Let's cook and eat Gyoza PartyDate:11/18/2000 UNESCO School administration committee
Elementary schools are closed every alternate Saturdays, but this day they were open. So, we planned it in the afternoon. People started to gather from around 2 p.m., and we observed that the kitchen was soon full of people. The students, who are cooking the experts, started their work and soon became busy cooking. We need a big stock of meat, vegetables and flour to make as many Gyoza as to fill our stomachs full. Getting those ingredients is not an easy job. Also, you have to work little hard to eat kitchen was soon full of people. The students, who are cookingexperts, started their work and soon became busy cooking. We need a big stock of meat, vegetables and flour to make as many Gyoza as to fill our stomachs full. Getting those ingredients is not an easy job. Also, you have to work little hard to eat the delicious Gyoza. As China is a big country, the way of preparing and eating varies depending on the districts. This means we could enjoy varieties of Gyoza luckily.
This year the another attraction was chiffon cake made by Miss Kawai, who also taught the children how to make it. It was a great success. Another young lady, Miss Aoki, who has learnt music specializing in playing marimba in China, spoke to the people around in Chinese. So, over all it was busy but very enjoyable event thanks to the help of many people.
