Yoshihiro Nakano (PhD student, CDE center, University of Sussex) participated in World Education Forum (WEF) and World Social Forum (WSF) that took place in Porto Alegre, Brazil, on January 19 through 28. The forums, aiming at posing a question on neo-liberal globalization conducted by international financial institutions such as the World Bank and IMF as well as multinational corporations from the US, Japan, and other advanced industrial countries, mobilized more than 100,000 participants from different parts of the world - Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
