With 70 attendants, the UNESCO Lecture started by welcoming Mr. Noboru Miura, a director of TBS Vision, as the guest lecturer. He appeared in front of us dressed in his 'location shooting clothes'. "The people in Cuenca in La Mancha, gave me this hat. They treated me as if we had been friends for more than 100 years. 87% of Spanish people think they are happy. This is in striking contrast to Japan. I feel very happy when I work in Spain. I love that country so much!"@

These are the outlines of the lecture.@
Speaking about Spanish language, many Japanese think that the English is the global standard language, but that is wrong. When you go to Central or South America, all the countries there, except Brazil, speak Spanish. Spanish people are very aggressive. Because of this tendency, they crossed the ocean and established huge colonies. When Spanish people start something, they never think of its negative side.
In Spain, I already have shot 5 programs of the World Heritage.

The Royal Plalace of Aranjuez

It has been almost 3 years since I started working for the World Heritage TV Series. In the very early period, I shot Sevilla, Easter in April and Cuenca. When I shoot 3 programs on location, for example, I spend about 40 days abroad. And then, spend about one month in Japan editing the three programs, then I go abroad again to shoot another location.
There is an island called Ibiza among the places registered in the World Heritage in Spain. The sunset on the west coast of Ibiza is so beautiful. @@

In Necropolis, which is called as a town for the dead, you can find numerous underground cemeteries, where you will find jewelry buried with the dead bodies. The Spring Palace, the 36th World Heritage in Spain, is located in Aranjuez, the construction of which was started under the order of the King Phillip II and finished at the era of the King Carlos III in the 18th century. During a war, Joaquin Rodrigo composed the Aranjuez Concerto. You can find a marvelous painting by Francisco Goya which described the family of Carlos IV in the Prado Museum.

Mr. Miura showed us his suitcase and things he always brought with him for his trip. Answering for a question as gwhat is the most desirable capability as a TV director?h, he answered, gPhysical strength, not suffering from sickness and good luck.h Especially, we were surprised to hear some of his stories about his senior directors who escaped from crisis only because they were lucky.@Also shown were some beautiful videos with his explanation, the lecture gave us very meaningful time that became an impressive start for the Spanish class.
