The Georgian polyphonic male chorus originated in the 12th through 14th
centuries, at the time of the Georgian Renaissance. “Ensemble Mtskheta”
belongs to the city of Mtskheta, 20 kilometers northwest of the capital
of Georgia, Tbilisi. Mutskheta is the oldest city in Georgia, an
ancient capital city that prospered from the 4th century BC to the 6th
century AD, and its historical district has been designated as a UNESCO
World Heritage Site.

Friendship members from India, who planned this event, will introduce
their country. There will be Indian music, dancing, and games,
too. You can try on saris and other Indian dresses. You can
also enjoy Indian tea “chai” and Indian snack “pakora”. We’ll be waiting

Although the special campaign is to be over soon, our activities will continue all through the year. If you have miswritten postcards, unused postage stamps and prepaid telephone cards you don’t need, please send them to the Meguro UNESCO Office. They will be refunded and used to fund the World Terakoya Movement
A PC class is being held at the Meguro UNESCO Office on Saturday afternoons
for the members who want to participate more actively in UNECO activities
by learning how to use PCs. The class starts at 13:00, lasting about
two hours. The first aim of the lesson is to help beginners learn how to
send and receive e-mail, how to retrieve information from the Internet,
and how to use Word and Excel as well as Ichitaro. Anyone interested
in helping with our web pages is of course very welcome. People who
would like to move on to step 2 after mastering basic skills are also invited
to join in.
