The children of Higashine Elementary School also co-operated with the performance.

International Cultural Exchange at Meguro Gohongi Elementary School

On September 29 (Wed), an international understanding class for the 6th grade was held in the meeting room of Gohongi Elementary School. Six friendship members from Nigeria, Thailand and Nepal and three Japanese staff participated.

Friendship members brought videos and showed them to the audience to introduce life in their home country, trying hard to use their recently acquired Japanese language. Ms. Fhilomina Idiaghere from Nigeria was nine months pregnant. Her presence as an expectant mother seemed to arouse a sense of closeness among the students.

The photo shows a boy trying a Thai instrument called saw-duang. He said repeatedly that playing this instrument was difficult even though Ms. Chayanin Wangsai was helping him.

The two-hour class flashed by, and then we had lunch together before closing.
